Response Update: Friday, March 22

Bayard Road in Shadyside: The American Red Cross assisted four individuals with food, clothing and shelter after an apartment fire on Bayard Road in Shadyside.  Red Cross workers responded early Thursday morning.

Red Cross volunteers and staff worked alongside the Salvation Army, Allegheny  Department of Aging, Pittsburgh firefighters and emergency responders to provide nearly 100 displaced residents with food, clothing, relief items and comfort. In addition, American Eagle Outfitters generously donated more than 200 outerwear items including coats, sweaters and jeans.

East Main Street in Uniontown: The American Red Cross assisted two individuals with food, shelter and clothing after an apartment fire occurred in Uniontown Thursday night.

Red Cross volunteers operated a warming center for those evacuated.

Herron Avenue in the Hill District: The American Red Cross responded to an apartment fire early Friday morning on Herron Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.

Red Cross workers provided three adults with food, clothing and shelter. The organization will be following up with those affected.
