The Local American Red Cross Hosts Second Be SAFE Day

The local American Red Cross welcomed guests this weekend at its second Be SAFE day event. The Saturday morning community awareness day took place at the Hazelwood YMCA. Red Cross volunteers and staff were prepared with fire safety information, free smoke detector registration forms and other preparedness material. The Red Cross workforce was extremely pleased to host the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire Chief Darryl Jones and Fire Inspector Lisa Epps.  Jones and Epps worked one-on-one with those in attendance to highlight the importance of being prepared and how to act in the event of a fire-related emergency.

Make sure to check back for updates on the third Be SAFE event which will be held in Beltzhoover.
